The reliability of a production system can never be contemplated with a restricted view of equipment and its components, without understanding that the human element is an integral part of the process.
Since RCM recommends that human errors, whether in operation or maintenance, must be listed during the survey of the problems and properly dealt with, this understanding becomes more clear.
So if the human element is part of the process may fail in the same way, and these failures redundarão loss of important functions in the production process as a whole.
These failures are not necessarily related to lack of preparation, disability or lack of commitment, but may be related to ergonomic conditions, sensory physiological or psychological unfavorable. At this point there is the human reliability to study and bring the correct steps to appropriate management to this type of failure.
How much percent of the process is affected by this type of failure within our factories? Certainly much. Here in Brazil, about 90% of car accidents are caused by human error.
